Music video shot using pinhole cameras

The production team for this music video got some of the shots by assembling a rig with many pinhole cameras side-by-side that took a roll of 35mm film. By using ultra-bright strobes, they can freeze performers in midair.

Beautiful song, beautiful video! I’d never seen the behind the scenes look before, so that was really interesting. I think the point they made at the end about how the process itself gave the video its unique aesthetic is important. I feel like there’s a fundamental difference between working with film and physically manipulating your materials vs. doing it on a computer screen. Not necessarily that one is “better” or “worse” than the other… just very different experiences.
